The Smith Westerns at CMJ

The Smith Westerns really know how to play music. On the second floor of Pianos on Saturday, October 24th for the Brooklyn Vegan day party, the room became crowded with eager fans of these Chicago boys.

Mid-set, the boys called out "We are the Smith Westerns and we are 13!" Nothing about their set revealed their age. Their lyrics, instrumental abilities, and stage presence reflected a mature band.  The stand out song of the set was "Be My Girl", full of reverb, slow electric guitar rifts and 70's psychedelic rock with a hint of shoegaze.
