Vivian Darkbloom

Vivian Darkbloom played at Pianos in New York on June 26th. These Boston natives started a little after 9pm, opening up for The Legends. The three members proved to be very talented, with a lead vocalist similar to Colin Meloy, a quality guitarist and drummer. The songs are catchy and upbeat, with very meaningful and clever lyrics. An interesting part of the band is their connection to the Wii guitar. Lead vocalist and guitarist Rob Morris attaches a Wii controller to his guitar. He uses the Wii buttons to maintain the guitar effects, as opposed to using a pedal. As a concert attendee, you cannot hear the difference due to this technique. It is always a positive surprise to see new techniques being used on stage. Vivian Darkbloom turned out to be something more then an average night at Pianos. One of the standout songs is "Cold War", which used the Wii guitar technique on the recording, is yours to stream below.
